The International Association of Fire Fighters chartered the PFFWV on December 20, 1930. The membership of the PFFWV is comprised of Local Unions of fire fighters in the state of West Virginia. The PFFWV serves 21 locals with about 1000 active and retired members.
Firefighters rescue woman from burning house in Princeton
Local fire crews rescued an entrapped woman from a house fire early this morning in Princeton. Princeton Fire Chief Chad Bailey said officers received a call at 12:30 a.m. regarding a residential fire at 602 Prince Street with a female subject trapped inside the house.
Fairmont is getting new fire engine
The City of Fairmont's Fire Department will soon benefit from a new fire engine. At Tuesday's city council meeting, council adopted a resolution for the lease-purchase of a 2013 Pierce Responder 1250 GPM pumper.
Woman pulled from burning Parkersburg city home
One woman was rescued from her second floor bedroom in the 1200 block of Juliana Street by firefighters early Sunday morning. About 6:30 a.m. Sunday, the Parkersburg Fire Department responded to 1209 Juliana St. for a structure fire.
House fire under investigation in Wheeling
Firefighters worked to subdued flames at a home early Sunday morning in Wheeling. According to Assistant Fire Chief Ed Geisel, the fire broke out at about 4:40 a.m. on Altenheim Avenue near the Tim Horton's restaurant. Firefirefighters worked to put out flames concentrated in the attic.
Suspicious fire on Charleston's west side
Melted siding, burnt wood and a trashed utility trailer – all signs fire investigators are calling suspicious. Mary Watson saw the flames about 3:30 Sunday morning and called 911. "It was so, so high -- oh gosh -- I thought the whole house was on fire at first," said Watson.
